Business and Finance supports the University through innovative thought and leadership, collaboratively promoting the best interests of the University, influencing cultural change, and being effective stewards of resources by providing high quality services. This theme continues in the second year with a greater emphasis on finance, business management and applied marketing. There is a focus on helping you develop research skills in this year in preparation for a final year research project on a topic of your own choosing. We focus on threshold concepts, for example, the relevant knowledge and understanding of organisations, the external environment in which they operate, books of accounting entry, marginal costing, opportunity cost, finance theory and market forces. These concepts unlock the basic principles of business and finance theory, allowing you to view these functions in a wider real-world context.
In the following year you’ll learn more about research methods in international business and go into more depth on the challenges and strategies related to managing across cultures and countries. At the same time, you’ll study corporate finance in depth and choose from optional modules on topics from specialist areas of economics to marketing and business history.
Thanks for this awesome reminder. I do not even examine the numbers anymore, regardless that my non profit spreading pleasure is nearly fully dependent on social media. WhatsApp Business is built on top of WhatsApp Messenger and consists of all the options that you just rely on, equivalent to the ability to ship multimedia, free calls, free worldwide messaging, group chat, offline messages, and much more.
You can participate in an investigative study tour learning about business practices and political and cultural influences in other regions, and gain practical skills with computer simulation software. You will also have the chance to learn in our state-of-the-art IRESS Trading Room on campus, which includes a market data feed and financial analysis tools.
We enjoy close links with many professional accounting and finance bodies, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), CFA Society of the UK (CFA UK) and Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Guest speakers often deliver sessions in commercial awareness, employability and working in the business sector. Past students have undertaken placements and gone on to work for prestigious companies including Microsoft, IBM, Tesco Graduate Scheme, Jaguar Land Rover and the NHS.
