The office of the vice president for business and finance has broad responsibilities in the areas of university-wide accounting and finance, budget and planning, internal audit, endowments and investments, facilities planning and management, human resources and benefits, administrative computing, and risk management. Seminars will deepen your understanding of the skills you’ll need to be an effective finance manager and individual tutorials offer you one-to-one support. This is all supplemented by an online virtual learning environment where you can find additional learning materials. Developing real business skills – Studying at Wolverhampton will allow you to develop the skills businesses demand including IT, project management, team working and leadership.
The business and finance curriculum at GW Law is both rich and diverse, including both basic and advanced courses, allowing students to design a curriculum suiting their own interests and career plans. Access is also open, under the same requirements, to students in possession of a degree obtained under foreign educational systems, once the University verifies that the degree is equivalent to an official Spanish bachelor’s degree that gives access to the Master program.
Christine (Chris) Regis serves as the University’s chief business and financial officer. Through supervision of eight direct reports, the Vice President oversees a wide range of administrative functions supporting the University’s academic mission. MSc in Business with a major in Finance and Class of 2017 student, Maria Rana, explains from her own perspective what students will learn in the major. Furthermore, Maria highlights how the degree will enable future graduates to be successful in the job market.
There is some overlap between the two degrees, particularly in the first couple of semesters, when management and finance students are both likely to spend some time learning about accounting, statistics, economics and business law and pick up hard skills along the way. Students who have received 36 units block credit and have been approved to undertake the Transition to Masters pathway between the Bachelor of Business (Finance) and the Master of Professional Accounting programs must complete the Masters electives in the nominated group in place of this course. You will build on your all-round knowledge of business, adding a strong emphasis on finance.
